“The Hesitant Hairy Rabbit” is a very cautious soul. This is represented by the two staccato eighths and the quarter in the beginning of the piece. However, he becomes less cautious as he begins to stride forward with his legato quarter notes. The student viola player will enjoy playing the emphatic double stops of two eighths and a quarter on open strings. This piece is much fun to play. It would be at a Grade One level on Toronto Conservatory standards. Wonderful grace notes in the piano accompaniment which also establishes the cautiousness of our rabbit. A great piece for the young viola student.
